  1. Hello James, great photos! You had a variety of shots. I think your best shot is photo #15 I like how you had to look the photo twice to figure out what exactly the phot was of, and the piece of art is an interesting piece you shot.

  2. I personally like photos #5 and #11. #5 made me question whether you were looking up or down while take a photo which makes it interesting. #11 has really nice lighting that made me question what I was really looking at.

  3. James,

I enjoy your photos where you begin to experiment with macro type focus and only seeing part of an object. It is hard to completely confuse us on the subject matter but you did a nice job masking some things to allow a mystery to resolve. I really enjoy photo number 5. I like it because there are common things in the photo (like buildings) that allow us to relate or be pulled in but the perspective is very interesting. The white lined object creates almost a line drawing in a 3d space. This is neat because it skews the depth of the space in the image. It almost reminds me of some of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy's photographic/image works.

  5. I agree with the others, #5 is also my favorite. It really pulls in the viewer, My attention was pulled to many different aspects of the picture, causing me to look at it much longer than I normally look at other pictures.

  6. All of your photos have really dynamic angles that create drama within your shots. My favorites are #3 and #5. The basketball hoop, shot from that low angle is so intriguing as a radial shape. I only realized what it was after studying it for a few moments and that is really great that you are getting viewers to stay with your images a few moments longer.

  7. James, you have some very nice composition in these images. I think I like #3 and #5 the best. The contrast between the dark net and the white sky make for a good photo, and in #5 the composition with the building and subjects are very nice. It also gives me vertigo. Very nice.

  8. James, all of your photos show that you have a great eye for photography. I particularly liked image 1 and image 3. Image 1 has a very authentic and retro feel to it, that wouldn't be present if the photo was sharp and contrasty. Image 3 I like for different reasons. It has extremely sharp and thin focus and is very contrasty. It gives us a new perspective to think of when imagining a basketball hoop.

  9. Hello. Your use of shadows and silhouettes within your photos really puts forth compelling shapes and patterns.

  10. Love the subjects in your photos! I like your first photo but wish there was more contrast or dark areas, just a preference. My favorite is 11 because the subject matter is very intriguing.
