9 is my favorite photo out of these. The emptiness and serenity make me feel as though I am at that gas station in the middle of the night waiting for someone. It tells a story with such little information, making it all the more appealing.
ReplyDeleteRachel, I really like photo #2 - I think the neon lights here look really intriguing, and the reflection off the brick makes for some cool light. It reminds me of the work of cinematographer Christopher Doyle, who often works with neon light in cities. Very good stuff.
ReplyDeleteFrom this set I like 16 best. The lighting is perfect and I like how we are not sure what or where we are looking so I spend more time with the image. I think that the framing in this shot is good and I am again not sure if were outside or inside. My mind wants to say outside but it is covered atop. I would love to know where these neat spots you have been uncovering are. Good job at finding the interesting in the relationships between two juxtapositions like interior vs exteriors, continue to do this!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo from this collection is number 2. I previously commented on this photo and still think it is one of your best shots. I like the coloring of the photo and how there is so much going on in the photo. As a viewer I looked at many different things. I looked at the people walking by and wondered what their stories were and I also am pulled in by the neon looking lights.
