For all of these photos I used my iPhone6. I mainly used Snapseed to convert to black and white, then used either the drama or vintage settings to tone.
Julie, I enjoy the contrast in most of your pictures, there is the dark black mixes with white, very nice balance. I really enjoy what you did in photo number 8. You took a subject matter, children, commonly captured and posed in cute and predictable ways and you illustrated the quirky nature of children. I enjoy how the bubble in the photo becomes an element of mystery and movement in an otherwise still photograph. I think your landscape photos are good but maybe next time try to get closer so we only see part of the landscape and can guess about the remainder of the scene.
My favorite photo of yours is number 8! This is a great shot! The theme of your photos seems to be outside. I also like the water shots. The different angles really bring out different parts of the background.
Your landscapes are really nice. I think you do really well shooting in landscape rather than portrait mode. #3, #4, and #11 are very dramatic and eye-grabbing. The houses and bridge you took look somewhat lonely or barren, which makes them very intriguing.
I really like photos 1 & 12 - #1 has a very nice filter added to it, which gives information throughout the image - even in the darker shadow areas, and the composition works very well with the portrait mode. #12 is really great because the camera is slightly canted along with the bubble - with the shadow of the child adding some nice fill on the bottom. I really really think this is a great photo - one of the best I've seen in this class. Good job.
Hi Julie, I love all of your photos, but my favorites are 1 and 2. 2 truly looks as though it could have been taken early in this century, and the light has such a glow to it that it almost seems like it was shot on film. 1 has a similar glow, and gives the area an enchanted, beautiful feel. Keep up the good work.
You have a nice variety of shots and I think #11 is your best shot.
